Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
- Caramelize onions in butter over medium heat until golden and soft, about 15 minutes.
- Layer grated potatoes in the prepared dish, season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Spread caramelized onions evenly over potatoes.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese and Parmesan over the top.
- Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
- Serve hot garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
