- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (preferably 80/20 for juicy texture)
- 4 burger buns, toasted to perfection
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese or your favorite meltable cheese
- 8 strips of crispy bacon
- 1 small onion, sliced
- Fresh lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Pickles (optional but recommended)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Butter or oil for grilling
Instructions
- Mix ground beef with salt and pepper, divide into four patties with a slight indentation in the middle.
- Preheat grill to medium-high and grill patties for 4-5 minutes each side, adding cheese in the last minute.
- Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy, then drain and set aside.
- Toast buns on the grill while prepping fresh vegetables.
- Assemble burgers with lettuce, patties, bacon, onion, tomato, and pickles on toasted buns.
Notes
- Use ground beef with at least 20% fat for the best juiciness.
- Do not overmix the beef.
- Let burgers rest a couple of minutes after cooking.
