Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Italian sausage links, sliced
- 1 package (16 oz) potato gnocchi
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add sliced Italian sausage and cook until browned. Remove sausage and set aside.
- In the same pot, add diced onion and garlic, cooking until translucent.
- Return sausage to the pot. Add chicken broth and Italian seasoning; bring to a boil.
- Add gnocchi and cook according to package instructions until tender.
- Reduce heat, stir in heavy cream, and simmer for 5 minutes. Add grated Parmesan cheese and stir well.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- Ensure gnocchi are cooked just until tender to prevent over-softening.
- You can substitute with turkey sausage for a leaner option.
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes while cooking.
