Ingredients
Scale
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
- Gradually pour in the milk, whisking constantly to prevent lumps, and bring to a simmer.
- Add Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly before spreading on pizza dough.
Notes
- Feel free to add crushed red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
- Best used fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for 2 days.
