  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Prepare three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumb-Parmesan mixture.
  3. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Dredge each chicken in flour, then egg, then breadcrumb mixture.
  4. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Brown chicken on both sides until golden, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Transfer chicken to the prepared baking dish. Spoon marinara sauce over each piece and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and chicken is cooked through.
