Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- ¾ cup warm water
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and melted butter. Knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
- Cover the dough and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place on a greased baking sheet.
- Mix minced garlic with a tablespoon of melted butter. Brush over the tops of the rolls.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese. Return to oven for another 5 minutes until cheese melts.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter.
- You can swap mozzarella for cheddar or parmesan for variation.
- Ensure yeast is fresh for a good rise.
