- 1 1/2 pounds beef sirloin or flank steak, sliced into strips
- 1 large bell pepper, sliced (red or green)
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place the sliced beef in the slow cooker and season with salt and pepper.
- Add sliced bell peppers, onion, and minced garlic on top.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, beef broth, and brown sugar. Pour over the ingredients in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours until beef is tender.
- Optional: To thicken the sauce, transfer liquid to a saucepan, bring to a boil, and stir in cornstarch. Cook until thickened.
- Serve hot over cooked rice and garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar.
- You can substitute the beef with chicken or tofu for variations.
