Instructions
- In a small bowl, activate the yeast with warm milk and a pinch of sugar; let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla; knead until smooth and elastic.
- Incorporate dried fruits and nuts into the dough evenly.
- Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 to 1.5 hours.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Punch down the dough and shape into a loaf.
- Place in a greased loaf pan or shape into a round on a baking sheet. Let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before decorating with powdered sugar and holiday sprinkles.

- For added flavor, brush the top with melted butter before baking.
