A festive and crunchy holiday treat combining caramel, chocolate, and nuts for a deliciously addictive toffee dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans or almonds)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar and stir until fully dissolved and mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the caramel onto the prepared baking sheet and let it cool for a few minutes.
  5. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot caramel and let sit for 2 minutes, then spread the melted chocolate evenly.
  6. Sprinkle chopped nuts over the chocolate layer.
  7. Refrigerate until set, then break into pieces to serve.
