- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans or almonds)
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar and stir until fully dissolved and mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour the caramel onto the prepared baking sheet and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot caramel and let sit for 2 minutes, then spread the melted chocolate evenly.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts over the chocolate layer.
- Refrigerate until set, then break into pieces to serve.

- Use a candy thermometer for best results.
- Chopping nuts finely will distribute flavor evenly.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
