Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal pieces.
- Shape each piece into a roll and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Let the rolls rest for 15 minutes, then bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before serving. Can be stored and reheated for a make-ahead breakfast.
