Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Additional cinnamon sugar for coating
- Cooking spray or parchment paper
Instructions
- Start by boiling water with butter and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Once it boils, remove from heat and add the flour all at once, stirring vigorously until the mixture forms a smooth ball.
- Let it cool slightly before adding vanilla and egg, mixing well to incorporate fully.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe small 1-inch strips onto a prepared baking sheet lined with parchment paper or sprayed with cooking spray. Alternatively, use a plastic bag with a corner cut off.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the churro bites for about 15-18 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and let cool slightly.
- Mix cinnamon with granulated sugar in a shallow dish. Toss the baked churro bites in the cinnamon sugar mixture while still warm for even coating.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
- Re-crisp in your air fryer or oven. Avoid refrigeration to prevent sogginess.
- For an extra touch, drizzle with chocolate sauce or dust with powdered sugar.
