Discover how to make a delicious honey garlic sausage and sweet potato skillet that will become your go-to weeknight dinner. Easy, flavorful, and quick to prepare!

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 lb (450g) of your favorite sausage links or ground sausage
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional for extra flavor)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the sweet potatoes into evenly sized cubes. Mince the garlic and set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Remove sausage casings if using links and crumble into the pan. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer to a plate.
  3. Add another tablespoon of olive oil to the same skillet. Toss in diced sweet potatoes, season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook, stirring occasionally, until tender and caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
  4. Add minced garlic to the sweet potatoes, sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in honey and stir to coat. Cook for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  5. Return cooked sausage to the skillet. Mix thoroughly and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For a lower-carb option, substitute grains with cauliflower rice.
  • Use chicken sausage for a poultry alternative.
  • Enhance nutrition by adding sautéed spinach or kale at the end.
