A delicious crockpot French dip sandwich made with tender shredded beef, melted cheese, and crispy bread, served with a flavorful beef au jus for dipping.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hoagie buns
  • 8 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Place beef chuck roast in the slow cooker. Add sliced onions, garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  2. Cook on low for 8 hours until beef is tender and easily shredded.
  3. Remove beef and shred with two forks. Strain cooking juices and skim excess fat.
  4. Psalsh beef back into the juices to keep moist.
  5. Split hoagie buns and toast lightly. Layer shredded beef and cheese on buns, then broil until cheese melts.
  6. Serve sandwiches hot with a bowl of warm beef au jus for dipping.
