- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups beef or chicken broth
- 8 oz uncooked lasagna noodles
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook ground beef or sausage until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cook until fragrant.
- Transfer meat mixture to the crockpot. Stir in crushed tomatoes, broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
- Twenty minutes before serving, add uncooked lasagna noodles. Cover and cook until noodles are tender.
- Stir in shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and extra cheese if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef or sausage for a lighter option.
- Adjust seasoning and cheese levels to taste.
