- 8 oz spaghetti or your favorite pasta
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
- Juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and black pepper, and cook until pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and sauce thickens slightly.
- Add lemon juice and cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss to coat evenly.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and additional Parmesan before serving hot.
