- 2 cups of cooked and mashed potatoes
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 cup of breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well mixed.
- Add the egg to the mixture and stir until smooth.
- Roll small portions of the mixture into balls or shape into small patties.
- Roll each puff in breadcrumbs and press lightly to ensure they adhere.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C) and fry the puffs in batches for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Reheat in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 10 minutes for extra crispiness.
- For healthier options, you can bake them at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes instead of frying.
