  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups of cooked and mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well mixed.
  2. Add the egg to the mixture and stir until smooth.
  3. Roll small portions of the mixture into balls or shape into small patties.
  4. Roll each puff in breadcrumbs and press lightly to ensure they adhere.
  5. Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C) and fry the puffs in batches for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 10 minutes for extra crispiness.
  • For healthier options, you can bake them at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes instead of frying.
