- 1 lb boneless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into chunks
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce or pureed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.
- Stir in garlic and ginger; cook for 1 minute.
- Add spices: garam masala, turmeric, cumin, chili powder; cook for 30 seconds.
- Add chicken pieces and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in tomato sauce, stir well, and simmer for 10 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
- Stir in heavy cream and cook for another 2 minutes until heated through.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
Notes
- You can substitute coconut cream for heavy cream for a dairy-free version.
- Adjust spice levels to taste for milder or spicier flavor.
