- 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced into rings
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon black peppercorns, cracked
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Sesame seeds and chopped scallions for garnish
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
- Add sliced beef and stir-fry until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add remaining oil, then sauté onions, red and green peppers until slightly tender but still crispy.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Return beef to the pan, add soy sauce, oyster sauce, black peppercorns, and stir to combine.
- If using, add cornstarch mixed with a little water to thicken the sauce.
- Cook for another 2 minutes until everything is nicely coated and heated through.
- Serve hot topped with sesame seeds and chopped scallions.
Notes
- Ensure beef is sliced thinly for quick stir-frying.
- You can substitute bell peppers with other vegetables like snap peas or broccoli.
- Adjust spice level by adding chili flakes if desired.
