Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Optional garnish: sesame seeds, chopped green onions
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the chicken pieces with soy sauce, honey, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same pan, add minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté until fragrant. Pour in the sweet chili sauce and stir well, bringing it to a gentle simmer.
- Add the cooked chicken back to the pan, tossing to coat evenly in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to meld flavors and slightly thicken the sauce.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles. For extra crispiness, pair with crispy vegetables or tofu made in an air fryer.
Notes
- Marinate the chicken for at least 15 minutes for enhanced flavor infusion.
- Use chicken thighs for a juicier and more flavorful result.
- Adjust the amount of sweet chili sauce for milder or spicier variations.
- Serve with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
