Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
An optional addition:
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts for extra crunch
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth. Gradually mix in the mashed bananas until well incorporated.
- Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture without overmixing. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for maximum sweetness and moisture.
- For extra flavor, add chopped nuts to the batter.
- Store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week.
- Freeze leftovers for up to 3 months; reheat slices in oven or microwave for fresh enjoyment.
