  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and sugar. Cut in the butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water until dough comes together. Divide into two disks, wrap in plastic, and chill for at least 1 hour.
  2. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Peel, core, and slice apples. In a bowl, toss apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour.
  3. Roll out one dough disk on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle. Fit into a 9-inch pie dish. Fill with apple mixture.
