Juicy shrimp coated in a rich, creamy garlic sauce served over perfectly cooked pasta creates a delightful meal that combines elegance and flavor effortlessly.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz of your favorite pasta (fettuccine or linguine work beautifully)
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a bit of heat)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic. Add red pepper flakes if using, and stir well.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Add the cooked shrimp back into the skillet. Toss in the cooked pasta, ensuring it’s evenly coated with the creamy sauce. Warm everything together for a minute or two.
  6. Transfer the pasta to serving plates. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and additional Parmesan if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy your romantic meal!

Notes

  • Use fresh, high-quality shrimp for the best flavor.
  • Cook the shrimp just until pink for tender, juicy results.
  • Adjust garlic and spice levels according to your taste.
  • If the sauce becomes too thick, stir in a splash of pasta water to loosen it.
