- 12 oz of your favorite pasta (fettuccine or linguine work beautifully)
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a bit of heat)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic. Add red pepper flakes if using, and stir well.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked shrimp back into the skillet. Toss in the cooked pasta, ensuring it’s evenly coated with the creamy sauce. Warm everything together for a minute or two.
- Transfer the pasta to serving plates. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and additional Parmesan if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy your romantic meal!
