- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- Red heart-shaped candies for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Mix in vanilla.
- Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until combined.
- Form dough into 1-inch balls and place on baking sheet. Flatten slightly.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden. Cool completely.
- Meanwhile, make ganache: heat heavy cream until just boiling, pour over chopped chocolate, and stir until smooth.
- Spread ganache generously on top of cooled cookies and decorate with red hearts.
Notes
- Ensure cookies are completely cooled before applying ganache to prevent melting.
- Can be refrigerated to set ganache faster.
