Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • Red heart-shaped candies for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Mix in vanilla.
  3. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until combined.
  4. Form dough into 1-inch balls and place on baking sheet. Flatten slightly.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden. Cool completely.
  6. Meanwhile, make ganache: heat heavy cream until just boiling, pour over chopped chocolate, and stir until smooth.
  7. Spread ganache generously on top of cooled cookies and decorate with red hearts.
